The Sky's the Limit: Monochromatic Style

Happy Wednesday!

Confession....I'm addicted to wearing the color blue! People usually wear blue when they are "feeling blue."  Not I! I've been wearing it a lot as a reminder to myself that the sky is the limit!

Often times we get so caught up in life that we allow doubt to overpower us, causing us to set boundaries on the things that we can achieve. We must remind ourselves that we CAN make it!

For this reminder, I wore blue with a twist: Monochrome Style! A monochrome style includes different shades of the same color.

I wore two shades of blue with edgy acessories (since I loved them so much in the previous post).

“Seriously, if you always put limits on what you can do, physical or anything else; it'll spread over into the rest of your life. It'll spread into your work, into your morality, into your entire being... There are NO limits. There are plateus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. If it kills you, it kills you. A man must constantly exceed his level.”
~Bruce Lee

Never underestimate the power of the positivity! Our thoughts create our world so don't allow your mind to become your limit! Stay postive, always!

When Life Gives you Lemons...

Hi Loves,

Today was a very special day for me :)

Ever felt like you met an angel? My angel came to me to teach me a few things.

The biggest lesson she taught me was "When life gives you lemons baby, you make sure you use those lemons to make lemonade!" The ingredients for the best lemonade are: prayer, faith and patience.

That angel showed me that life can throw many things, but with that lemonade, you just pray, have faith and watch God work! For example, I drove her to a special hospital to prepare for an 8-hour surgery. I prayed all the way to work, because I was so nervous. One hour later, she called me to come back or send someone else because they didn't have to do it!

Thank God for a praying woman. That angel, is my favorite person EVER, my gram! Today is her 17th Pastoral Anniversary. Happy Anniversary gram! :)

Neutral and Bold

Hi Loves,

Happy Friday! Ever had the longest day ever, but still need to get out???? That was soooo me last night! I woke up at 7am, came home at 9:30pm. I managed to get dressed and out of the house by 10:30pm, just to get back home at 2am.

If anyone knows me, they know this is not me at all! Not Courtney getting ready in an hour?

To make this happen, I went for the look that comes natural to me, color-blocking. I wanted neutral tones with a touch of boldness. I wore a blue-green asymmetrical skirt with a soft, salmon color top. To complete the look, I added a neutral bag and kept it simple by making sure my sandals and top matched.

This season calls for Tory Burch sandals, something I collect every summer!

Top-Kohl's
Skirt- Macy's

Style Crush: Khloe Kardashian- Stripes

Hi loves,

I love, love, love Khloe! Although I don't know her personally, she seems like the down to earth one. Khloe like myself, happens to be the curvy, cancer sister :)

I saw this dress at Arden B (for $80) and couldn't resist. (I have to admit that it saddened me when I walked into Kmart one day and saw the same exact dress for $25 in Nikki Minaj's collection). I got even more excited after seeing Khloe wear the same exact dress!

What Khloe Wore:
Dress- Torn by Ronny Kobo ($288)
Shoes-Giuseppe Zanotti x Anja Rubik Suede Open Toe Lace Up Booties ($1340)

I love this dress because it is very versatile. I can wear it dressed up for work or similar to Khloe's.

What I Wore:
Dress-Arden B
Shoes- Steve Madden

Because I was inspired by Khloe's mixed prints, I wore the striped dress with a cheetah necklace and heels.

What I Wore:
Blazer- F21
Dress- Arden B
Necklace- Macy's
Shoes- Jessica Simpson

Living on the edge

Hi loves,

Last night I did something I don't normally do...I didn't plan my night! For me, that is something that I never do! Sometimes we have to step out of our comfort zone and release some of our fears to take adventures and learn new things.

I must admit that was one of the best nights I've had in a while. That taught me a great lesson: let go of fear! It showed me that when I let go of fear, a new happiness and adventure was right on the other side.

If I was going to "Live life on the edge," why not add edgy pieces to my outfit! My go-to looks are usually sexy and chic. This time I added bold red lips and black high waisted shorts, something I don't usually wear.

Edgy accessories were a must! The leather spiked purse and an edgy ring completed that look.

These trendy target heels also added a part of my go-to style with the edgy look.

What I wore:
Top-Target
Shorts-F21
Ring-Jolie Bijoux
Bag-Aldo
Shoes-Target

Take more adventures, let go of fear, think outside of the box and stop caring what other people think! P.S. take your friends with you on those adventures!

How do you live life on the edge?

Cotton Candy

Happy Sunday!

Most people never think of combining pink and blue. We are brought up to believe that pink is for girls and blue is for boys!

But there's one time that whether you were boy or girl, you LOVED pink and blue. When I think of pink and blue, I think of cotton candy.

As a child I always loved to get pink or blue, but if they allowed me to get a combination of the two, it took me to the closest place to heaven!

I wore a pink top and blue skirt. The light color shoes reminded me of the white stick that cotton candy usually came on.

To bring all the colors together, I added a floral clutch!

What I Wore:
Top- TJ Maxx
Skirt- Bebe
Shoes- Zara
Clutch- Aldo
Necklace-F21
Watch-Michael Khors

Just in Case- Gray X Plaid

Hello ladies,

I'm usually having such a hard time separating the work life from home life. I often times find myself dragging my work laptops home (just in case) on a Friday night.

If it's after 5pm, it can wait until the next business day. Sometimes we just need to let it go although we are so use to having control. That work life controls me so much that I'm usually sleep before my gram on a Friday night!

Last Friday, I put that separation anxiety to rest! I called everyone that usually calls me to hang out, but to no avail no one was available :( I decided to throw on something quick (just in case)!

My quick go-to styles lately have been midi dresses. I found one of my favorites at Target!

Took me 15 mins to brush my hair, dress up this dress and find cute shoes!

The cute shoes were a must since we all know good shoes take us great places!

And 5 mins later, someone was down to go out. Turns out, those Just in Case outfits come in handy!
