Celebrating Magic in Pink

Hi loves,

It's been so long! I'm back :)

As I get older, my favorite season has become wedding season. It's just so good to be around love with great music and great people. It gives me so much to look forward to with my love life.

The hardest part is always picking the right attire. I literally went to the mall for 2 hours and walked out with NOTHING. Of course it's my fault for waiting until the night before, but stillllll; how can you go to the mall and come out with nothing??

I only found white dresses. I learned my lesson early after going to a wedding with my mother who NEVER explained the golden rules for ladies: NEVER WEAR WHITE!  In fact, she even took my picture for me after I got dressed. I have never been side-eyed so many times in my entire life. Put it this way, I'll never make that mistake again, EVER! White takes away from the bride.

I came home and decided to try on all the things I kept, hoping to one day be able to fit again. OMG this literally made my night! I was finally able to fit so many things again! Can you say happy girl???

This pink dress was one of the very few dresses I kept and boy was this a great decision. This was so perfect since I avoid black and white, fun and bold for the win!

If you don't take away anything from this post, please remember to NEVER WEAR WHITE!!!!!

Hi Loves!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far.

I keep getting the same question at work now... What are you doing, why are you glowing so much? It's something different about you!" and I always smile and reply, "I guess happy looks good on me."

Tapping into who you really are brings such a joy in your every day life, especially at work. If I could give any advice to the younger me, it would be to love YOU and put YOU first! I was once the girl that put everybody else's happiness first. That only caused me to stunt my growth. Some of the very people you helped along the way are happy, growing and enjoying their lives (while you remain the same, very unhappy). Your negative thoughts will be replaced with positives ones so you never have to worry about many bad days ahead of you. For example, I used to be the type that went to work and absolutely hated being there. I hated dealing and interacting with so many different personalities. Since this new found happiness, I enjoy going to work and talking to different types of people because they have taught me so much about myself (and how to deal with people!).

I learned to take in all the good and throw out the bad! Things will go wrong, people will be mad, but I must always remain the same. I also learned that you must determine the proper time to use the words "No" and "Yes." At one time I was ALWAYS using the word "yes" as a response to everything (then beat myself up later for it.) I learned the hard way that "no" MUST be added to your vocabulary without feeling guilty! I took these work lessons into other aspects in my life and the results are very rewarding!

I finally feel like it's my time to shine and I'm doing everything it takes to exceed my goals, all while looking and feeling my best :)

Xoxo,

Courtney

Burgundy Vibes

Hi Loves,

I don't know about you, but although I love fall, I still have a hard time letting go of summer. Especially when mother nature plays mind games with you. One day I'm wearing shorts and flip flops, and then the next day I'm wearing pants and a jacket! (So confusing!) What better way to accept fall, than to bring it in wearing your favorite fall hue!

Nothing says fall/autumn like burgundy! When shopping for fall, the first color that calls my name happens to be burgundy. I head straight to the hat section and before picking up the black hat, I get the burgundy one.

Burgundy with black is cool, but burgundy with a color is GREAT! I love color blocking all year. My fall color blocking inspiration comes from mother nature herself! I had no choice but to accept fall once I saw the color changes right before my eyes.

I added a yellow-lime color with burgundy and it turns out to be favorite thing, "A match made in Heaven!" Seeing this match made me even more excited for fall shopping!

To break up the colors, I added a gold and burgundy belt that I got from Express.

To complete the look, I added black shoes to match the belt and band around the hat.

Hello Chapter 24: Orange and Blue

Hi loves,

Although I only turned 24 (nothing special about that number), this birthday is truly one of the best birthdays I've had since a child. This is the first one that I can honestly say that I have love and peace. I will be the first to admit that I got lost looking for it in sooooo many places. I did get it from two places, God and myself. When we stop seeking validation from people who haven't found the very things that  we are searching for ourselves, we find what we are looking for from within.

I never thought it would take me 24 years, but it did. Life has thrown many things my way. I overcame every struggle, much wiser and stronger than before. I'm not perfect, but I love and believe in me. I'm ready for whatever comes my way. I can finally say that I found myself and still growing and it feels great! It's never impossible to prevail, even after a struggle. The things I once cried about, I sit and laugh about now. Thank God for growth! You can't stop me now, the sky is the limit! ❤️

Happy birthday to me! :)

Neutral and Bold

Hi Loves,

Happy Friday! Ever had the longest day ever, but still need to get out???? That was soooo me last night! I woke up at 7am, came home at 9:30pm. I managed to get dressed and out of the house by 10:30pm, just to get back home at 2am.

If anyone knows me, they know this is not me at all! Not Courtney getting ready in an hour?

To make this happen, I went for the look that comes natural to me, color-blocking. I wanted neutral tones with a touch of boldness. I wore a blue-green asymmetrical skirt with a soft, salmon color top. To complete the look, I added a neutral bag and kept it simple by making sure my sandals and top matched.

This season calls for Tory Burch sandals, something I collect every summer!

Top-Kohl's
Skirt- Macy's

Style Crush: Kim K - Grey & Neon Yellow

Hi Loves!

A new fun fact about me is that I have many Style Crushes! My top style crush is Kim K.

I can always appreciate her style! I'm a fan of her essentials, from the black blazers to the high heels. Kim can always make a black blazer work, whether she wears it dressed up or dressed down. She, like myself, isn't too tall so incorporating heels to give a little extra height, lengthening our legs is a MUST.

Here's the perfect example of my style crush with a black blazer and heels:

What Kim Wore:
Dress- Kardashian Kollection
Heels- Tom Ford

I got inspired and remixed the look! I wore a shirt and skirt as my recreation instead of a dress like Kim.

Hi Ladies!

I hope all is well. If you work over an hour from home, then you understand my pain. Many days I feel blue in the mornings. I can't help but think about the amount of traffic or lame drivers on the road.  (BLAAAHHHH!!)

On the worst days, those days when I feel sluggish, I throw on different colors to change my mood. What better colors to combine than different shades of blue?? The lighter shade of blue (shoe/necklace color) is my absolute favorite color to wear, especially when it comes to color blocking. I have to tell myself not to wear them daily, but of course I never win. Somehow, I manage to find a way to incorporate them into any work outfit.

I often find myself motivated by the quote, "If you don't like something, then change it!" I hated feeling blue every morning, so I played with different colors to improve my mood :)

Be Inspired!

P.S.

I love a simple dress for work. I just add blazers and accessories to change them up. This makes them very versatile. For example, this dress is also my sexy, elegant party dress. I wore it to my grandmother's 70th birthday party! (One of my favorite looks!)

Red, Hot, Blues!

When I think of red, I think of all things hot; I think of love, passion or fire.

Skirt: Express
Watch/Bag/Shoes: Michael Kors

Hi Ladies!

I mixed these colors for a fun, classy and chic look. Working in the business world in corporate America should NOT be an excuse to not incorporate your style and personality into your daily look.

I can't seem to get away from midi skirts or heels! As you can see, I live for prints and color. (Especially, fun and bold colors!)

Be inspired!

Xoxo,

Honeyy
